Our Mission and Values

Our vision is a more inclusive world where disabled people have the autonomy, tools, and support to thrive and navigate systems built against us.

Here’s what that means and how it shapes everything that we do:

Autonomy

We believe in disabled people having ownership over their decisions— not being told what to do or how to do it.

Applying for disability benefits shouldn’t feel confusing or disempowering. Too often, benefit systems are full of jargon, judgment, and hoops to jump through.

Our approach is about putting knowledge and control back into your hands. Whether you want reassurance, step-by-step support, or just need someone to double-check your forms, we meet you where you are.

We are here to support your independence,

not override it.

Inclusion is not just about being invited in — it’s about being recognised, valued, and understood without needing to justify your identity or existence.

Through our Deaf, disability and LGBTQ+ inclusion training, we work with workplaces, schools, and community organisations to foster real change — not just awareness.

We explore what meaningful inclusion looks like in practice, how to avoid performative gestures, and how to shift cultures.We know that inclusion doesn’t start or end with one training session.

It’s a long-term commitment to equity, access, and safety — and we’re here to support that journey. As an LGBTQ+ and disabled-led organisation, this work is personal. All of us brings lived experience, insight, and care to what we do.

Inclusion

Access

We build accessibility into everything we offer, from client support to workshop sessions.

This includes:

  • Choice between working with a fluent BSL advisor or via a qualified BSL interpreter

  • Screen-friendly, accessible platforms

  • Live captions as standard

  • Follow-up written transcripts

  • Shared presentations or recordings

  • Content available in plain language

If you need something else to make a session or resource accessible for you, just let us know — we’ll always do our best to accommodate.

Accessibility isn’t an extra for us. It’s at the forefront.

Support should never be out of reach because of cost.

We offer:

  • A full standard rate for our services

  • A discounted rate — no explanation needed

  • Option to pay in installments or benefit backpay

And if you’re still unsure whether you can afford it, ask us about our other contingency options — we’ll always try to find a way to make it work.

No one should have to choose between support and stability. We trust you to know your own situation.

Affordability

Our Community

We are proud to be a disabled and LGBTQ+ led organisation. We’ve navigated these systems ourselves. We’ve dealt with the barriers, the burnout, and the bureaucracy. That lived experience isn’t just something we carry — it informs everything we do.

Our community is multi-marginalised with diverse identities, and a wide range of access needs.  That’s why we approach our work through an intersectional lens — inclusion that works for one person might create barriers for another. Access needs can conflict, and many of us belong to multiple cultures.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution, and we’re not here to offer one. We’re here to listen, to adapt, and to build something more responsive — together.

Our Mission

We exist to shift the balance — to give knowledge, power, and autonomy back to disabled people.

We do this through:

  •  Supporting people to understand and manage their benefit claims with clarity and control;

  • Offering inclusive training that challenges bias and transforms practice;

  • Embedding access into everything we do — not as an afterthought, but as a foundation;

  • Making support affordable, flexible, and non-judgemental; and

  • Valuing lived experience as essential.

Inclusive:
We honour and celebrate the full spectrum of identity and experience. Inclusion for us means respect, safety, and belonging.

Autonomous:
We centre your choices and your voice. Our role is to support your decisions — not make them for you.

Accessible:
Access is built into every part of our work. We adapt and learn continuously.

Affordable:
We do everything we can to make our support financially manageable. We trust you to know what you can afford.
